 jamming or music societies
Its been a while for me but I want to get back into music as a hobby. Does anyone know some musicians who would like to Jam every once in a while or if there are any music groups here in Tsukuba for the non-Japanese speaker? I am guitarist/singer mainly but I like lots of different types of music so i'm flexible.

 Jamming ...
I don't know of any jamming groups in Tsukuba, as such. I play guitar a bit ... though some would beg to differ Suppose there wouldn't be any harm in starting one, but I'm too busy at the moment. Evenings are totally full, and weekends are busting at the seams. It'd be good if someone took the initiative though.

I'm interested, but I don't know that I'd be much use at a jamming session since I'm just starting to learn percussion...

I am also busy, don't know where the time goes! that's why I was hoping to join a music society rather than start one... but maybe all those intersted initially could meet up somewhere just to talk about music, influences, etc. How about someday during the week in the evening? The top floor of Ninomiya House has a piano, so that might be a good place to meet.

 Evenings ...
I'm out of town teaching ( ... or, what could be loosely described as teaching) every evening through the week so evenings are totally out for music at the moment. Weekends are totally full, and most of my daytime is taken up with teaching and other stuff. It's very difficult to find space for music, sadly. Thursday is my day that's most free, but I'm already working on some music projects with a mate from over in Kashima ... so most of my Thursdays are taken up with that or other projects. If some time gets freed up somehow, I'd be interested, but for now it looks impossible.

 Certainly do ...
Things change ... I might get some time in the not too distant future. Maybe when these current projects are wound up.

Well, taiko, but since I cannot afford/don't have space for a taiko to practice on at home, I play a djembe (african drum played with hands).
And since my neighbors can hear when practice that little drum, I figure taiko at home would be out of the question.
